T6 (R 183 168,03- R 237 787,70 Per Annum)

REQUIREMENTS

  • Grade 12 or relevant post matric qualification preferably a NTC3 in Water Treatment or Waste Water Treatment.
  • Trade related qualification: Operators certificate/ Waste Water Treatment practice (NQF 4)
  • 1 – 2 years’ relevant experience.
  • Registered as a Class IV Process Controller or eligible to be registered as a Class IV Process Controller
  • Valid Code B Driver’s License will be an advantage.
  • Computer literate (MS Word/Excel/Outlook)
  • Good health and sober habits
  • Able bodied
  • Proficient in at least two (2) of the three (3) official languages of the Western Cape

 

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

  • Monitoring, controlling and enforcing compliance with all relevant procedures, guidelines, etc.
  • To ensure effective and efficient control of the plant operations within the specific shift period in order to reduce the potential of any Wastewater quality or delivery risks.
  • Supervises plant personnel during a defined shift to ensure the maintenance of staff discipline and execution of work.
  • Ensure the completion and submission of attendance registers of staff/employees.
  • Manage workplace discipline in a consistent manner during shift.
  • Monitor, record and control effective stock usage.
  • Adhering to all prescribed operational standards & procedures
  • Monitoring dosing plant equipment and help with the cleaning of the channels, Inlet Works, Clarifiers, Aeration Basins, sludge drying beds and or sludge lagoons of the Wastewater Treatment Works.
  • Collecting wastewater samples as per prescribed monitoring program and make appropriate process adjustment based on the outcome of the results.
  • Undertake basic preventative maintenance on plant equipment e.g. pumps, valves, water glands, aerators, etc.
  • Operate SCADA
  • Must be willing to work overtime, irregular hours, public holidays, weekends as/and when needed.

Candidates must be willing to be subjected to an interview and written/competency assessment. They must also be aware that previous employers and recent references may be contacted, and their qualifications and criminal records be verified. The appointment will be subject to the signing of an employment contract, performance agreement and disclosure of interest.
