Oudtshoorn, 17 February 2021 – The Municipal workers continue with their strike today while management is still attending to their grievances. Management has meanwhile, resorted to making use of temporary workers’ services to collect refuse today.
We wish to advise residents of the Greater Oudtshoorn that refuse removal may take a bit longer than normal, since the amount of staff and trucks collecting garbage is limited.
The refuse removal that should have been collected yesterday will still not be collected. Should there be any alternative development in this regard, we will communicate accordingly.
The Municipality is aware of the inconvenience this situation is causing. However, management undertakes to do everything that would make it possible for the Municipality to render services under the current circumstances.
