Update: Covid19 & Lockdown – Greater Oudtshoorn, 17 April 2020

  • Learner’s licence, driving licence, motor vehicle licence disc, PDP etc. during and after lockdown period

    During the lock – down, the validity period for learner’s licence, driving licence, motor vehicle licence disk, temporary permit, professional driving permit and road  worthy certificates shall be deemed to be valid and shall be extended for a further grace period of 30 days from the date of expiry of a lock – down period, unless determined otherwise by the Minister.

  • Validity of tourist transport services: licenses and accreditation certificates during and after lockdown period

    The validity period for all transport operating licences and accreditation certificates for tourist transport services that are due to expire during the lock-down, shall be deemed to be valid and shall be extended for a further grace period of 90 days from the date of expiry of a lock-down period, unless determined otherwise by the Minister.

  • Motor trade number licence during and after lockdown period

    The validity period for the renewed of a motor trade number licence during the lock – down, shall be deemed to be valid and shall be extended for a further grace period of 6 months from the date of the expiry of the lockdown, unless determined otherwise by the Minister. Driving licence testing centres and vehicle testing stations will remain closed during lock – down period.

  • Provision, selling and transportation of greywater not an essential service

    The provision, selling and transportation of greywater will not be permitted as it is not an essential service. People found selling and transporting grey water are in transgression of the lockdown regulations and will therefore be prosecuted.

  • Permits for essential services

    The Fire, Rescue and Disaster Management Services Centre, the SAPS, Magistrates’ Office are not issuing permits. The only permits that will be issued by SAPS and/or the Magistrates’ office in terms of the regulations are the funeral outside the district.
