Oudtshoorn Municipality Loses a Colleague

Oudtshoorn, 03 February 2022 – We are deeply saddened and shocked to hear of the passing of one of our colleagues Marshilino May yesterday, 02 February 2022, said the Mayor of the Greater Oudtshoorn Municipality, Cllr Chad Louw and I want to send “our heartfelt condolences to the family”. 

May worked at the Municipality as a temporary worker for a few years, until he was appointed as Labourer at Community Services in the Cleansing Department.  He was known for being a humble and gentle colleague, who had a passion for his work and who always did his work enthusiastically. 

“Please know we’re thinking of you during this painful time. As your work family, we are here for you,” said May’s colleagues who had nothing but precious words to say about him with their bleeding hearts. His colleagues furthermore shared beautiful memories, adding that, “he was a soft-spoken gentleman, with a huge heart who resonated faith and God in his everyday life”.

Walter Hendricks, Acting Municipal Manager of the Greater Oudtshoorn Municipality shared his deepest and humble condolence to the family for their loss. “We hold you close in our thoughts at this tragic time. We’re deeply sorry for your profound loss. May you find comfort at this most difficult time in the outpouring of love surrounding you and your family.”

May leaves behind his mother, his father, his four brothers, and his sister.
