Oudtshoorn, 28 July 2021 – The Oudtshoorn Municipality welcomed Justin Lesch as the new director of technical services, which was vacant for more than a year, on Tuesday, 1 July 2021
Lesch brings to the new role his wealth of experience and skills in the fields of management, strategy, policy, and negotiations. He acquired the skills during his years as a technical manager with the Prince Albert Municipality and senior manager at Hessequa Municipality’s electrical & mechanical services. He has been working in both the local government field and various private sector organisations while stationed in the Western Cape.
“I believe that infrastructure maintenance and long-term planning will go a long way to boost Oudtshoorn Municipality’s potential as well as maintain its position as a sustainable service provider of choice and to serve the people,” said Lesch.
“Based on our interactions since his appointment I am impressed with his assessment, his departmental activities and his vision for the department,” said the executive mayor, Chris Macpherson. “He had to hit the ground running and has already shown he is capable of handling difficult situations.”
“We look forward to welcoming the rest of his family and wish them all our best wishes in becoming ‘Proudly Oudtshoorn’ citizens,” Macpherson said.
