Oudtshoorn Municipality is offering bottled water to the residents of the water stressed area of De Rust.
The remains of the recent fires that hit Oudtshoorn, stormed into the water stream following Thursday’s rains causing discolouring in the water. The water supply to De Rust has therefore been discontinued.
As an interim resolve, the Municipality urges residents to visit the De Rust offices to receive bottled water. The Municipality has also availed mobile water tanks to the residents of De Rust.
Residents are urged to use the available water resources sparingly while the water shortage problem is being monitored.
