We are pleased to inform you that we have successfully integrated our financial system with our prepaid vending operations. Which means all prepaid meters must be linked to a Municipal accountholder/erf number. This enhancement is to improve transparency across all prepaid transactions.
The Municipality would like to inform consumers who use below prepaid electricity meters to ensure that their contact details are verified and up to date on the Municipal Financial system, including:
- Mobile Phone number
- ID number
- Physical address

Updating and opening of Municipal account can be done through our REVENUE Department. Informal settlements and backyard dwellings are also included in the above request.
Consumers have 7days to contact the revenue department, after which the mentioned meter numbers will be blocked and will only be unblocked after the necessary information is obtained.
