Oudtshoorn, 8 July 2020 – The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) declared Christiaan MacPherson, a new Councillor for the Democratic Alliance (DA) in the Oudtshoorn Council with effect from 3 July 2020.
Macpherson who is former member of the Oudtshoorn Council, replaces the former Executive Mayor of the Greater Oudtshoorn, Colan Sylvester who ceased to hold office of councillor in the Oudtshoorn Council.
Councillor Noluthando Mwati, who holds a position of Deputy Mayor has since acted as Executive Mayor for the Greater Oudtshoorn. Cllr. Mwati is still acting as Mayor until the Council elects an Executive Mayor.
