Gratitude from Relatives Who Lost Their Family in Fire

Oudtshoorn, 17 January 2023 – Relatives of the family of six who passed away in a fire last week, want to express their gratitude to everyone for the condolences as well as donations they received from the community of the Greater Oudtshoorn.

They request that in this time of sadness, to allow their loved ones to mourn their loss and treat the scene where the family lost their lives with respect.

The deceased will be laid to rest on Sunday, 22 January 2023, and the service will be held at the Navada Hall, Bongolethu at 10:00.

The family was unfortunately not financially prepared for the funeral cost as this whole tragedy was unexpected and is asking the community to please assist them, if possible, with food or monetary donations to help them with the final farewell.

For any monetary donations please feel free to send donations to the family through Capitec, account number: 2068718169, account holder: E Fortuin Ref: Mei Family. The family appreciates all that has been given so far but asks the public to be aware that some individuals are claiming to collect donations on behalf of the family.

Donations not paid into the above bank account as well as food donations should reach the family via Councillor Zoe Tyatya who is in regular contact with the family. He can be reached on 063 644 5495.
