REQUIREMENTS

  • Grade 12 or relevant post matric qualification preferably a NTC3 in Water Treatment or Waste Water Treatment.
  • Trade related qualification: Operators certificate/Waste Water Treatment practice (NQF 4)
  • 1 – 2 years’ relevant experience.
  • Registered as a Class IV Process Controller or eligible to be registered as a Class IV Process Controller
  • Valid Code B Driver’s License will be an advantage.
  • Good health and sober habits
  • Able bodied
  • Proficient in at least two (2) of the three (3) official languages of the Western Cape

 

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

  • Coordinates risk-based water safety- and security planning of the water treatment works during a defied shift period of a Class B Water Treatment Works.
  • Supervises plant personnel during a defined shift period of a Class B Water Treatment Works to ensure the maintenance of staff discipline and the execution of work tasks.
  • Monitor, record and control effective stock usage.
  • Evaluate effectiveness and efficiency applied technologies and the utilization of assets to achieve operational objectives during a defined shift period of a Class B Water Treatment Works.
  • Coordinates, controls and monitors the activities and operations of a Water Treatment Works during a defined shift period to ensure compliance with the prescribed drinking water standards and other related policies.
  • Coordinates and conducts operational- and compliance monitoring to ensure that the plant delivers of the water quality standards as prescribed by SANS 241 (Latest approved) standard and the risk-based water quality monitoring programs.
  • Operate SCADA.
  • Must be willing to work overtime, irregular hours, public holidays and weekends.

The appointment will be subject to the signing of an employment contract, performance agreement and disclosure of interest.
