Oudtshoorn, 31 January 2017 – Mr. Allen Paulse has officially been appointed as new Municipal Manager of Oudtshoorn Municipality following the concurrence of Minister Anton Bredell of the Department of Local Government, Environmental Affairs and Development Planning.
Paulse’s appointment was announced at a Special Council Meeting on Tuesday, 31 January 2017. The Minister also agreed with the appointments of Mr. Felix Lötter as Chief Financial Officer and Mr. Reginald Smit as Director for Corporate Services.
“I am satisfied that the relevant prescripts as stipulated in the Municipal Systems Act 32 of 2000 on Regulations of Appointments and Conditions of Employment of Senior Managers, as well as Regulation 3 of the Municipal Regulations on Minimum Competency Levels have been complied with,” reads the letter issued by Minister Bredell.
The Executive Mayor, Cllr. Colan Sylvester said: “We are ecstatic to have eventually appointed senior staff; the stability in the leadership and management of the Municipality will now be consolidated since these appointments are key to service delivery and financial recovery plan.
Meanwhile, Council has also appointed Mr. Thomas Matthee as Director Community Services. This appointment too is subject to Minister Bredell’s concurrence.
