The Municipality has improved from an adverse audit opinion in 2014/20 to a qualified Audit opinion for the 2015/2016 financial year.
The Executive Mayor, Cllr. Colan Sylvester has in turn expressed his satisfaction of the AG’s visit and feedback about the performance of the Municipality. He said, the new leadership and management would work towards improving the financial management and governance of the Municipality.
The Auditor-General of South Africa (AGSA) is the supreme audit institution (SAI) of South Africa. It is the only institution that, by law, has to audit and report on how the government is spending the South African taxpayers’ money.
