REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum registration or eligible to be registered as a Class IV Process Controller for the operations of a Water Treatment Works.
  • NQF 3 in Water Treatment or equivalent.
  • 1 – 2 years’ accumulative and relevant experience at WTW and relevant for the applied technology.
  • Valid Code B driver’s license will be an added advantage.
  • Good health and sober habits
  • Good maintenance and construction, writing and calculating skills.
  • Be able-bodied.
  • Proficient in at least two (2) of the three (3) official languages of the Western Cape

 

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

  • Coordinates, controls and monitors the activities and operations of the Water Treatment Works
  • Coordinates and conducts operational and compliance monitoring to ensure that the plant delivers water quality that complies with the latest SANS 241 Drinking Water standards.
  • Undertakes basic preventative maintenance and basic repair work on plant equipment, e.g. pumps, valves, water glands, sand filters, etc.
  • Risk-based water safety and security planning
  • Be able to do laboratory testing and compile weekly reports.
  • Supervise plant personnel
  • Monitor and control plant stock
  • Evaluate effectiveness and efficiency of applied technologies and the utilization of assets to achieve operational objectives.
